Custom Ringtones on a Rogers Sony Ericsson W580i?

I know I would need to trim files down to less than 600kb and/or under 30 seconds and have done so. I’ve dragged and dropped the files into the folder “music/ringtones” but when I go to select them in my phone they are not on the list of available ringtones. I have made sure the files are mp3′s and that the size restrictions are met.

I just figured this out on my Rogers phone…Rogers blocks using your own ringtones. Insert expletive here. But this does work.

One change, in the adding it to your phone section, step 6,
IGNORE
High light the .DM file you made out of your MP3 and drag it to the MyPhoneExplorer and put it under the Memory Stick folder and the Phone Memory folder.

INSTEAD,
Drag the file onto My Sony Ericsson w580 folder.

Continue with step 7, Check your phone.

That’s also how you load anything you download, themes…wallpaper etc. Drag the file onto My Sony Ericsson w580 folder and follow instructions on your phone.
